Verba Maximus is South India's first and largest literary fest hosted solely by the students of BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus. From being a small gathering of literary enthusiasts in its first edition in 2012, it has now grown into one of the biggest congregations of talent in the country.
Verba Maximus means ‘Words of the Greatest’ in Latin, and true to this, we’ve always aspired to bring in the best of the best in their fields to our fests. Amish Tripathi, Ashwin Sanghi, and Christopher C. Doyle are only some of the well-renowned authors whom we have hosted at the previous editions of our fest along with performances by comedians such as Biswa Kalyan Rath and Kenny Sebastian among others.
Verba Maximus is primarily organized by the English Language Activities’ Society of BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus with assistance from other clubs. Our events pander to a large audience with competitions in writing, speaking, debating and slam poetry. We have always focused on delivering interesting and innovative events of the highest quality and we believe that this is what has led to the amazing participation that we receive every year.
